I’m Kayla (she/her) a Character Designer and Merchandise Designer based in Olympia, Washington.

My work is primarily character art focused, with an emphasis on exploring ideas that are not often vouched for in the current media. I aim to flip stereotypes and shine a spotlight on stories that aren’t as often represented. My favorite genre’s are middle grade coming-of-age stories, queer romance, and stories about strong and complex friendship. Growing up watching Fantasia 2000 on repeat, I realized at a young age the impact music, art, and animation have on people and the power it has to bring good into the world, and I want to be a part of that.

I am available for character driven projects in animation, children’s and young adult books, and merchandise.

I like roller-skating, daydreaming about Disneyland, thrifting, making earrings out of old toys, watching detailed theme park history videos, and eating copious amounts of chocolate
