Creating Cosmo

Afropop, a start up soda brand in Oklahoma City, reached out to me to create an astronaut mascot for their brand. Together, we created Cosmo, a nonbinary astrophysicist from 1969 Tulsa, Oklahoma, that travels into space and gets transported into multiple different dimensions. Cosmo is rooted in afro-futurism and the black history of Oklahoma. I created a turn around for Cosmo, a basic structure for their backstory, and multiple designs for merchandise, such as stickers and t-shirts. The founder of the company liked my t-shirt design so much, he wanted it to be a part of the brand’s logo, which was incredibly exciting!
